Welcome. I'm a writer, editor, and passionate public communicator with experience in science journalism and expertise in the interdisciplinary social sciences and humanities. I bring professionalism, science literacy, and research experience to every project I tackle, from developmental editing for monographs to magazine articles on popular psychology.
I hold a PhD from Boston University (2016) and a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I also have training in German language and translation from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
As a writer and journalist, I've published on a broad range of topics: the social sciences, politics, cultural commentary, science journalism, complex systems. If you name it, I can research and write about it. As an editor, I can help improve and perfect your book project, paper, or article with developmental or content editing, line editing, copyediting, and translation.

“Connor is without doubt the best editor I have ever engaged with. There is not even a close second.…he helps authors clarify their message so that they are able to express precisely what they wish to express.”
- Richard Sosis, James Barnett Professor of Humanistic Anthropology, University of Connecticut
“Wood’s editorial work reflects his own exemplary writing style. He enhances clarity without sacrificing sophistication… In both style and substance, my work has improved as a result of his care and attention.”
- Benjamin Purzycki, Associate Professor, Department of the Study of Religion, Aarhus University, Denmark
